Bare Necessities Foundation, Inc is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that supports and empowers local families in need by providing them with the "bare necessities" such as food, furniture, and clothing in order to allow our families to focus their efforts and income on building better futures for themselves.
What We Do
Usually in a week or less...
Identify Needs
Bare Necessities Foundation, Inc. receives referrals from MCPS, hospitals and other local agencies.
We usually meet with the family within a couple of days to identify what their needs are.
Secure Donations
Bare Necessities Foundation volunteers reach out to our own networks, including neighborhood list-servs and gifting groups to find what is needed for each family.
The organization also approaches local businesses for in-kind donations for the families.
Deliver
Bare Necessities Foundation volunteers pick up and deliver the goods to the families and most often stay and help them set up. Once a family has been assisted by the Bare Necessities Foundation, they can always contact us for assistance in the future.
